Al Manestar was a highly regarded, highly contributing guild member and Executive close to our hearts. He always promoted fellowship, mentorship, diligent work ethic, and a laugh. If you needed help Al would always offer it. He encouraged others to help, while sometimes filling multiple roles at once. He also reached out to other faceters and guilds. Al made history when he faceted a piece of local quartz (from the Lyndhurst site). He used frosted facets on the pavilion to proudly create his Maple Leaf design. He then presented the stone in person to Canada’s Prime Minister of the day, Jean Chretien There are 2 designs based in what size stone you wish to cut. Please enjoy the designs with our blessing and give him credit as the designer. Thank you Al.
